On Friday, May 2, Young Audiences Arts for Learning (YA) proudly recognized outstanding arts supporters with the AIE Arts Champion Governor’s Award as part of the statewide Governor’s Awards in Arts Education. This prestigious accolade was presented to Seth Boyden Elementary School in Maplewood, NJ, in recognition of their exceptional dedication to arts education through the AIE Program.

For more than a decade, the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) has been at the heart of Arts in Education (AIE) programming across Essex County, positively affecting the lives of more than 8,000 students annually.

New SOMA Superintendent Jason Bing began his report during the August 29 Board of Education (BOE) by thanking Facilities Director Tom Giglio for his hard work and the school staff for their patience during facility improvements. He noted, “I think the improvements are going to be well worth it.”
